About Me

Hi, I'm Kirsty. I am a teacher of History, Spanish and ESL. I have three school-age children and am about to embark on six months of leave at home. I'm married to a wonderful man who is also a teacher (I truly believe that teachers are like Hollywood stars - we have to marry each other to make it work! No one understands a teacher like another teacher) Together the five of us (plus our small menagerie of Dash the cat, Benjamin the bunny, Beaky the budgie and the five chickens) have a quiet, yet fun and happy life.
I am returning to this blog after a five year hiatus! During this time of leave, I plan to work on the short story collection I have begun and possibly even a novel. Throughout this blog I have chronicled numerous novel writing attempts. I suppose it's still in there, trying to get out!
Over time, this blog has channeled not only my serious intentions as a writer (of a number of different novels and genres) but also the fun quirks that happen around our house during the day. Some days you get recipes and home decorating advice, other days its reviews and news. Most of the time though it's just me using this blog as a way to keep my mind busy and myself sane.

I hope you enjoy reading it, and if you're an aspiring writer I hope you find any tips and research that I've done helpful.
