My Wooden Romance

Those of you who know me may be familiar with my plastic aversion.

I don't like it.

Not in the kitchen.

Not in the nursery.

Not in the rumpus room.

Not on a train. And not in the rain.

I've replaced most of my food containers with glass ones. My son drinks from a stainless steel drink bottle and his sippy cups, although plastic, are Tommee Tippee BPA free ones. So is my drink bottle from Kathmandu. My sister bought me some glass bottles for the baby but I haven't had to use them yet.

I've also gotten new cloth nappies for my daughter and only use the disposable ones at night. I decided to go with Baby Beehind Magic-Alls Multi Fits. And despite the extra washing I'm really loving them.

Anyway, the point of this post is I've been doing some Christmas shopping online and have been browsing the great site My Wooden Toys for both my toddler and my baby. They have some great ideas and the prices are really good, compared with wooden toys in stores. I've got my eye on a few things but can't go past the fun stocking fillers.

My son doesn't have too many plastic toys. His obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine means he has a lot (I'm talking dozens) of wooden trains which he zooms around the wooden track (and across the carpet, the tiles, the window sills....and so on and so forth....) I'm sure he would love the Excalibur Blue Fort or the Magnetic Fishing Boat.

For those of you doing Christmas shopping for little ones I suggest you check it out.

Ciao for now xoxo

Thanks for the website I'll be keeping it in mind for Christmas. Let me know if you want me to pick something off there for your kids.
