A Feast for the Senses

Floriade is one of Canberra's favourite times of year. And one of ours too.

Here's why.

This year's theme was, yep, you guessed it - A Feast for the Senses. There were great displays in the shape of food, and these edible displays with lettuce, cabbage and more delicious vegies and herbs.

I especially loved the Moroccan Market display.

But with the kids the main attraction was the reptile zoo. We had missed the farm animals, which were there for the first half of Floriade but we all enjoyed the reptiles. Goannas, snakes, turtles and lizards GALORE!!! Like this little guy :)

All in all it's a great day for the family.

THere's something for everyone, including the fancy Lindemanns tent for wine tasters, and it's free to get in. Food and rides can be a bit pricey though so I suggest you pack your own lunch. There are also some great stalls - I picked up some lovely lemon myrtle balm for my daughter's dermatitis - so if you're into that sort of thing bring some extra cash.

When: It's usually the middle of September til the middle of October but check their website for confirmation.

Where: Commonwealth Park, Canberra Australia.

What: Flowers, attractions, stalls and markets, Night Fest and more.

Enjoy, oh and don't forget to pack your hat!!!

Bye for now!
