FOR TODAY

Outside my window...blustery hot wind, thriving petunias and a freshly painted outdoor dining table

I am thinking...that toilet training shouldn't be this hard

I am thankful...for air conditioning

In the kitchen...the Captain is cooking up a zucchini storm

I am wearing...shorts and a singlet ready to start painting

I am creating...more plans for my book, and even writing a few scenes of it

I am going...nowhere today, 38 degrees has got me safe inside :)

I am wondering...how to fit everything in when the kids are wanting so much of my attention and I'm trying to find the time to get the painting done, catch up on blogging, writing Orpheus and doing my reading for book club. Yikes!

I am reading...The Odyssey and Sherlock Holmes The Sign of the Four

I am hoping...for a storm this afternoon

I am looking forward to...playdates, visits from family, and hopefully a drop in the temperature so that we can go outside and have a play in the sprinkler

I am learning...about the hymns of Orpheus and the role of the figure of Time in history. And that podcasts are a great way to learn without having to read :)

Around the house...a bomb has gone off!! And I can't seem to bring myself to care

A favorite quote for today..."In the tapestry of childhood, what stands out is not the splashy, blow-out trip to Disneyland but the common threads that run throughout and repeat." Simplicity Parenting, Kim John Payne

One of my favorite things...fresh fruit salad and yoghurt

A few plans for the rest of the week: playdates, visits with the grandparents

A peek into my day...painting, Lego, trains and maybe even Lady and the Tramp
